My Top 20ish Photographs for 2016

Thanks to everyone that supported and encouraged me in the making of my book "Edge of Bim".

it was quite a wild adventure and the feedback from everyone has been great.

Thanks for the sales, comments, likes and the spreading the word.

Here are a few of my favourites from 2016.  They didn't make it in time for this book, but hopefully I can do another one in a couple years.

Drop
Drill Hall Beach, Barbados

We were lucky to have a few decent swells come through in January.  This surfer lines made the drop.

West Coast Glow
Canefield, Barbados

The sky was exceptionally hazy on this evening and helped to spread the suns warm glow across the scene.

A Dream in Blue and Green
Roseau, Dominica

I took this shot on my first morning in Dominica.

Avalon
Bathsheba, Barbados

This is one of my favourite spots on the island. To catch the morning light I had to get up at 4:00 am but it was worth it.

Window to Paradise
Bathsheba, Barbados

Another earlier morning shot. This time it's "Parlour".

Morning at the Beach

Panning shots are always a bit unpredictable. It's a bit of guess work between the shutter speed, how fast you move and the light. For this  one the soft early morning pastel colours was just what I was looking for.

Hope
Scotts Head, Dominica

As peaceful as this shot looks I remember rushing to setup my gear and composition. I wanted to take the shot before the sun came out completely from behind the clouds. Without the clouds I think the lighting would have been too harsh. Once the shot was finished I just stood there for a bit and took in all the beauty of the scene.

New Frontiers
Emerald Pool, Dominica

Another amazing location. I would have stayed there for days if  I had the time. A must on my revisit bucket list.

Wave Window
Brownes Beach, Barbados

An ICM panning shot.
The cloud coverage was quite heavy for this shot but as it got later this thin slip of light shone through and danced along the tops of the waves.

Codrington College
Codrington College, Barbados

This is a large stitched stitched panorama. The light at this time of the morning was wonderful. You can't see much of details at this size but the ducks on both sides of the pond were having a great time. I'm looking forward to printing this one really big.

Rollercoaster
Crane Beach, Barbados

I took an early morning drive to catch the sun as it was rising. After quite a few shots I got lucky and got this one with the wave just about to break.

Morning's Magic light at Bathseba never gets tired.

One of my favourite  spots on the island to get back in touch with nature.

Lip Service
Barbados

A little over a year ago I got my first water housing for my camera.  Loving it and looking forward to spending even more time in the water this year.

Always Greener
River Bay, Barbados

I was walking along the cliffs at River Bay one morning when I spotted this green pool. The emerald colour was so vibrant at this time of day that I had to stop and take a shot.

Home by the Sea
Lakes Beach, Barbados

This was a shot I had planned in my head. I wasn't sure how it would turn out or where the sun would be and I actually got there later than I wanted. Fortunately, the sun and clouds ended up putting on quite a show.
