Beach Pool – Surfers Bay, Barbados

Whenever I’m taking a really wide shot like this 10mm one, I usually try to find something of interest in my foreground and take advantage of any leading lines I can find.

Photographs are 2 dimensional representations of our 3 dimensional world.

The use of leading lines is a great way to add depth to your images.

Leading lines don’t always have to be straight or go from top to bottom.

In this shot I used an “S” shape to guide the viewer from the left side, to the beach and back along the coast.

Tip:

Look around for leading lines when you are composing your shot or editing in post.
